Why I’m No Longer the “Declutter Girl”

Hey you! I wanted to take a moment to write about why I’ve chosen to go from Transformed Spaces to Cass Henry.

Many of you know me as the “declutter girl.”

Helping a 90-year-old couple get their space back

Cass, the go-to for cleaning up messes and helping people declutter and get organized. I love that I have been able to create a title over the past 3 years in business- how cool is that!

I’ve loved the journey, I’ve loved working with all my clients and helping people transform their spaces and ultimately their lives!

She finally got her dream closet!

Originally I had started my declutter and organizing business because I wanted more for my life. I knew I was made for more but I hadn’t quite figured out what that was yet. So, I decided to explore what I like and what I was good at and I came up with a decluttering business.

I posted my services on Facebook and the next day I had my first client. This was three years ago. Overnight, I had a business.

I literally had NO idea what I was doing. I had zero clue about how to run a business, market a business, or even what having a business meant. One thing that I was certain of was that I was not going back to working for someone else, that I was made for more, and I was going to do whatever it took to make this all work out.

I’m quite proud to have been able to create a name for myself. Building a business and a brand is difficult and I would be lying if I told you there wasn’t a day where I didn’t think about quitting. But I persevered and kept my head up (with a few tears in between, haha!)

So I’m sure you’re thinking… so Cass, then why are you writing this right now.

Truth is, I notice everything.

I didn’t see the clutter.

All they wanted was a family meal together.

What I saw were broken relationships, overwhelmed parents, a lack of structure and rules, chaos and confusing in homes, eating disorders, failing marriages, a lack of self-love, business owners who had no time for themselves and their families, addictions, mental health disorders and people who were very very sad. This all broke my heart and I wanted to help.

Of course, this wasn’t everyone, and I surely am missing quite a few observations, but I’m simply generalizing.

Clutter my friend is merely a symptom of what is going on in the inside.

So, a big reason why I’ve decided to switch over to my own brand of Cass Henry and more specifically to the coaching realm is because i’ve finally found what i’ve been put on this earth to do!

My passion and purpose is to help people ultimately transform their lives so that they can be the happiest they possibly can be in this lifetime. Sounds cliche and perhaps it is, but it’s my mission and I’m sticking to it.

It broke my heart to see so many people suffer. I am grateful however also that my time working with clients in their homes, helped me to realize my purpose- solidifying my intuitive feeling of being made for more, thus, allowing me to help my clients on an even deeper level now.

I want to help people bridge the gap between their internal and external clutter, helping people create long-lasting results vs. short term cleanups.

I’ve been very fortunate to help people find motivation, inspiration, the will to keeeeep on going, and find a strategy to move forward, for much of my life. Before being the organizing and declutter girl, I was (and still am) the go-to for advice and inspiration.

When friends and family, and even strangers, are feeling sad and rather “lost” in their journey of life, they’ve messaged me for advice. How lucky am I!

I too have gone through a lot in both my child and adulthood that I’ve been fortunate to work through and develop tools and strategies to push through it all.

I’ve had my battles with:

  • Having a binge eating disorder (still working through it)
  • Waking up every day wanting to kill myself (suidical depression for over a decade)
  • Alcoholism (drinking so much I blacked out every time, passing out, becoming incoherent, winding up in the hospital, being sick for days, and doing it all over again- again and again for years)
  • Debilitating anxiety
  • Abusive relationships
  • Anger issues and short temper
  • And more…

You see?

We’ve all got out shit (sorry to swear!) but seriously. You see the smiles on social media and the “picture perfect” lives, but do you know what’s really going on in peoples lives?

I’m here to be real, raw, and authentic with you.

The strategies and tools that I’ve learned while working through my past issues, are the things I’m just dying to share with you!

Each day my mission is to show up to shine a light bright enough for people who have temporarily lost theirs.

We are not broken as human beings, we are simply overwhelmed, overworked, overstimulated and have fallen off our path. For some, it takes longer to get back on their path- and that’s okay! I’m here to help you find your path again and create a vision so clear that living becomes exciting again.

Life is too short to be anything but happy. And although you’re going to have some sad days, my hope for you is that they are short and as painless as possible.

I hope you continue to follow along on this journey and heck, become apart of it! Re-write your story just as I have mine, and let me inspire you to become the best version of yourself.

I’d love to keep sharing with you– so if you want, click here so you can stay up to date on all the inspiration and one day I hope you’ll join me for one of my dream board workshops!

Much love and gratitude always,

Cass
